Okay, folks, there was only one comment on last week’s Creatively Entrepreneurial post. Therefore, Nate Wells of Idaho is the only entrant thus far, in the drawing for the iPad and two iPod Touches. Reminder, the drawing will be held on July 4, 2013. This week’s topic? It’s near and dear to my heart. Until […]
Why do we do what we do? It’s an open ended question that could apply to your daily job, your daily routines, or most anything. This evening, however, I wanted to share a blog that I follow, which has brought a lot of inspiration to me. The blog is the Burritos and Startups Blog, by […]
In the Information Age, more so than any other age, brand or branding has become one of the central elements to any hugely successful venture. In a time when a face, a tweet, a status update, a photo, or even a video can travel so quickly, and spread viraly, and in a time where entrepreneurs […]
@HowardLindzon via The Best Tech Conference Nobody Knows About. I don’t often re-blog anything, but I think this conference sounds like a hoot, and a room full of people I’d sure like to meet and have a drink with. Think tanks of entrepreneurs and venture capitalists are exactly what our Country needs at this point […]
In the Studio with California Dingo – musician, audio engineer, graphic designer, web designer, etc.
I’ve started working with a real audio engineer, in a real studio, for my voice over auditions. Man, the difference in sound is just amazing. Here’s where I give a shout out to the California Dingo, and share some of the work from his own musical endeavors, as well as some mixing and mastering he’s […]
Okay, so old R.G. is living a double life of sorts. I’m really known as a Civil Engineer, under my given name and not this pseudonym… Well, I received some mail the other day and it inspired me to tell you this story and share a bit. On Friday, February 24th, I made the first […]
The Widget below has all of the current demo songs that I have posted on http://www.reverbnation.com/rgriles. Most are cover material right now, with a couple of originals. Only one has vocals at this point, but that will change soon. I’m actually seeking female singers that would like to join up with me and be the […]
Just want to start with a bang! Grandma turned, well, another year older just a couple of weeks ago. I originally decided to record a song for her. So, I plugged in my condenser mic, turned on Adobe Audition, sang the main melody, then sang a bass backup vocal track, then played a little opening blues riff, went into the chords, and outro with another blues riff and there ya go!
But then… well, I thought a video would be more special. Also, I remembered that Google has this “monetizing” thing, so they’ll put ads all over your video and it can possibly make money. Well, for Grandma’s present, I’m going to let her pick a charity and then donate the proceeds for the video in her name!
The video part was a bit tricky. I have a Samsung pocket HD cam that is fantastic, and I had a clip of a sunset in Oahu that I took this past January, a photo of Grandma and I from 15 years ago, and then had to sync my video of me playing with the music I had recorded… Well, shouldn’t have put the cart before the horse but I promise you this is not lip sync (lying). I was singing, it’s just muted and you hear the Adobe Audition version, lol. Through the process, I now have 3 videos on my “channel”, to which you might consider subscribing http://www.youtube.com/users/rgriles33 <—- thanks!.
Anyhow, please check it out for charity and leave some feedback! Great to meet you all! – RG Riles
